President Bola Tinubu’s aide-de-camp (ADC), Lt. Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, has become the king of Ilemona in the Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, following his father, Oba Yusuf Oyekanmi’s death in May.
As the new king, Yusuf will manage both the traditional and administrative affairs of Ilemona Town, aiming to uphold and advance the legacy of his forebears for the town’s prosperity.
Yusuf began his academic journey with an ordinary national diploma in computer science from Offa Polytechnic in 2000, then joined the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (electrical-electronics).
From 2004 to 2005, he attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the United Kingdom.
In 2006, he received training at the Nigerian Army Intelligence School in Lagos, focusing on intelligence and security according to Nigerian Army policies.
Yusuf further enhanced his military skills by completing the tactical intelligence officers and security investigations courses in 2008.
Between 2009 and 2018, Yusuf, who speaks Yoruba, Hausa, English, and French, underwent various military training programs in Mali, Pakistan, China, Israel, and the United Kingdom.
In addition to his military training, he earned a master’s degree in defence studies from Kings College, London in 2018, along with a postgraduate diploma in peace studies.
Yusuf began his role as ADC on May 1, 2023.
