Dr. Augustina Godwin, the Honourable Commissioner of Education for Taraba State, was honored with a merit award from the Legislative Writers Forum at the National Assembly in Abuja. The award ceremony took place in her office at the Sani Abacha’s Secretariat in Jalingo, Taraba State on February 15, 2024.
Dr. Apeh Ketim A, the Organising Secretary and leader of the delegation, presented the award, highlighting Dr. Augustina’s outstanding contributions to the implementation and sustenance of free and quality education in Taraba State, as declared by His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas. Dr. Apeh praised her leadership style, dedication to work, and service to humanity, deeming her worthy of emulation.

In her response, Dr. Augustina expressed gratitude to the Pan African forum for recognizing her with such an esteemed honor. She acknowledged that the award would motivate her to achieve even more. Furthermore, she thanked His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas for entrusting her with the responsibility to serve the people of Taraba State, pledging not to disappoint him or the people of Taraba.
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Idris A. Goje, also congratulated Dr. Augustina, highlighting her remarkable achievements as the first female commissioner in Taraba State. He praised her dedication and expressed appreciation to Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his commitment to implementing free and quality education in the state, while praying for divine guidance and wisdom for the governor in steering the affairs of the state.
The event was attended by directors and staff members of the ministry.
