The Taraba State Police Command has reported the apprehension of individuals responsible for the murder of a third-class monarch from Sansani village in Gassol local government area.
The Commissioner of Police for the state, David Illoyanomon, has announced the arrest of the kidnappers responsible for abducting two students from the Federal University in Wukari. Among the 28 suspects apprehended is Abdulkarim Ibrahim, a notorious kidnapper known for terrorizing the Sarduana local government area.
Seven of the suspects were directly involved in the kidnapping of the university students, who were released following a ransom payment. Others were arrested for offenses such as illegal possession of firearms, banditry, and impersonation.
The Commissioner credited the success of these arrests to the collaborative efforts of various security agencies and the support of the people of Taraba State. He also acknowledged Governor Agbu Kefas for his contributions, particularly in providing logistical support.
During the operations, law enforcement recovered a substantial amount of weapons and items, including AK47 rifles, pistols, live ammunition, motorcycles, cartridges, knives, cash, cows, rifles, magazines, and other assorted equipment.
