The construction of the Taraba Governor’s Lodge in Abuja was started by the first civilian Governor of the state, His Excellency Rev Jolly T. Nyame.

Subsequently, the Lodge was dedicated in Honour of Taraba’s illustrious Son, General TY Danjuma (Rtd) GCON, the Abonta of Kwararafa Kingdom, the Gamgbaro of Donga, the Barde Babba of Lafia, the Jarman Zazzau, the Ajakunle of Ondo, the Jiji of Karu and the building has since then been referred to as “TY Danjuma House”.

TY Danjuma House is majestically situated at No. 31 TY Danjuma Street, Asokoro Abuja to accommodate the Governor of the state and his Deputy.

The Governor’s Lodge accommodated the Governor and his Deputy until the year 2008, when the then Governor of the State, Pharmacist Danbaba Danfulani Suntai renovated the Lodge and relocated the Deputy Governor’s Lodge to Wuse 2.

The Governor’s Lodge that Gov Agbu Kefas met was nothing to write home about due to years of neglect. Apart from the fact that it was in a state of disrepair, there were only two two-storey buildings. The Lodge compared to similar structures within the vicinity only gave the State bad publicity.

Upon his assumption of office, Dr Agbu Kefas the Man with a large heart and renewed hope, the Driver of the moving forward mantra, approved the reconstruction and remodelling of the Lodge. He equally built One additional storey building to add to the ones on the ground. The project which was started in October 2023 was completed in June 2024 and officially commissioned on the 21st of June, 2024.

The occasion brought together dignitaries from across Nigeria including the Governors of Adamawa, Plateau and Kogi states. The Former Head of State, Gen Yakubu Gowon, Former Defense Minister, Gen TY Danjuma, Former Minister of Information, Prof Jerry Gana, Former Governor Jolly Nyame, Former Acting Governors Sani Abubakar Danladi and Alhaji Garba Umar, former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Armayau Abubakar, the Aku Uka of Wukari, His Royal Majesty Dr Ishaku Adda Ali, Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Njidda Tafida, Chief of Mambilla His Royal Majesty, Dr Shehu Audu Baju, Members of the National Assembly, State Assembly, Members of the state Executive Council, friends and associates of the Governor from far and near.

No doubt, the remodelled Taraba Governor’s Lodge has given Taraba a facelift in the FCT. It is proof to the outside world that Taraba is on a journey to progress.

Without mincing words, Taraba Governor’s Lodge now is among the most befitting Governors Lodges in Abuja.

Since his emergence, Dr Agbu Kefas has proven that Taraba’s interest is his top priority.

He has not abandoned the projects of his predecessors and even upgraded facilities he met on the ground.

Dr Agbu Kefas is bringing Taraba state to the limelight and setting it on a path of growth and a Centre of attraction.

Of course, the Governor’s Lodge would be the meeting point of every development forum on Taraba state in the FCT as it is another office of the Governor in Abuja.

The way and manner Dr Agbu Kefas is working for the state has demonstrated that single-mindedness, resolve, and determination can achieve whatever goal with the support of trusted lieutenants.

And to those who understood the Governor, he is after quality work. All his projects executed so far are of the highest standards.

This Man loves Taraba and is working tirelessly to improve on what he met on the ground. He is striking the right cord with the people and his indelible footprints can be seen everywhere in the State. The Governor’s Lodge project is just one among many. Now Taraba is in safe hands. God Bless Dr Agbu Kefas.
