President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Garba Dantsoho as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). Dr. Dantsoho, a distinguished indigene of Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State, brings with him a wealth of experience and a robust academic background that includes a Doctorate in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, UK, and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, UK.
Dr. Dantsoho has had a progressive career within the Nigerian Ports Authority, holding several key positions such as Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager of Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff & Billing.
His extensive experience in these roles has equipped him with the expertise necessary to drive the NPA’s mission to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Nigeria’s port operations.
His appointment is seen as a strategic move to leverage his deep understanding of maritime operations and his vision for the future of the NPA.
