A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the detention of Saleh Mamman, a former Minister of Power, in Kuje prison pending the court’s review of his bail request.
Justice James Omotosho issued this directive on Thursday during Mamman’s re-arraignment on a money laundering charge, which had been postponed earlier.
Mamman pleaded not guilty to the 12-count charge filed by the EFCC, accusing him of money laundering amounting to N33 billion.
His defense counsel, Femi Ate (SAN), submitted a bail application following the plea, despite objections from the prosecution regarding the timing of the filing.
