Earlier today, on Monday, January 22nd, 2024, the Honourable Commissioner of Education for Taraba State, Dr. Augustina Godwin, conducted an unscheduled visit to the Marmara Government Girls Secondary School (Special Exchange Program) located in Wukari, Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the facilities and observe the academic activities within the school, as well as to evaluate the quality of student meals.
Dr. Augustina was warmly received by the school’s Principal, Mrs. Tika Lynna Adugba. During her inspection, she expressed satisfaction with the level of dedication demonstrated by the school’s management, staff, and students.

The Commissioner conducted a thorough examination of the school’s facilities and identified areas requiring improvement, notably the need for fencing around the school premises. She assured the school community that under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, all necessary improvements would be made. Additionally, she commended the food contractor for their excellent service and encouraged them to maintain the standard.
Furthermore, the recently transferred Principal of the school shared her plans and innovations for the institution and sought the full support of the Ministry of Education and the entire community to implement them effectively.
In addition to her visit to Marmara Government Girls Secondary School, Dr. Augustina also inspected the ongoing renovation and remodeling of the female hostel at the Taraba State University Campus in Jalingo, which is part of Dr. Agbu Kefas’ initiatives. She applauded the contractor for their resilience and the quality of work being done.
