Arrest of Janet Igohia: Janet Igohia, aged 31, was apprehended by troops from the 93 Battalion under the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Taraba. She was caught in the act of collecting a ransom of N1.5 million for an abducted victim. Igohia disclosed during interrogation that she had previously been married to Gana Terwase, a notorious criminal who was killed three years ago during a Joint Special Force Operation. She also revealed her current marriage to Voryor Gata, the leader of a violent extremist group in southern Taraba.

Apprehension of Suspected Gunrunners: In a separate operation, troops deployed at Mararaba Baissa community in Donga Local Government Area arrested two suspected gunrunners, Alhaji Adamu Damisa, aged 40, and Usman Isah, aged 44. They were allegedly involved in extra-judicial killings and cattle rustling. The troops seized N664,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from their illegal activities, as well as two Techno mobile phones.
Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde emphasized the Brigade’s commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens by dismantling criminal networks operating in Taraba State. The public was encouraged to support the military and other security agencies by providing credible and timely information on suspicious movements or activities of criminals within the state.
