News going round that Former DSS DG’s Son, Abba Bichi, on the Run After Allegedly Stealing $2 Million from Father’s Safe
Abba Bichi, son of the recently sacked Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, has reportedly fled after allegedly stealing $2 million (approximately N3 billion) from his father’s safe. The theft is said to have occurred shortly after President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of Bichi from his position.
According to DSS sources, Abba, who was aware of where his father stored large sums of money collected from politicians, rushed to the house and took the box containing the cash as soon as news of his father’s dismissal broke.
In a related incident, Mr. Adamu, the Chief Security Officer to the former DSS boss, has been detained for allegedly attempting to steal thousands of dollars from Bichi’s office. Adamu was caught by security personnel as he tried to leave the office with a bag of stolen cash.
While multiple sources have confirmed Abba’s theft, the investigation into Adamu’s involvement is still ongoing. Abba, known for his lavish lifestyle and unsuccessful attempts at a football career, lives in an upscale Maitama apartment, where he reportedly pays $80,000 per year in rent.
The DSS is actively searching for Abba as the investigation continues.
