FULL LIST: PenCom, NSITF, ICRC… Tinubu makes spree of appointments in one day

President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of new heads for 10 federal agencies and a national project.

On Saturday, Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, made the announcements through a series of press releases.

Some of these appointments require senate confirmation.

ADEYANJU TO HEAD NLTF

Tinubu has appointed Tosin Adeyanju as the executive secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF).

“Adeyanju is a distinguished administrator and advocate for good governance,” the statement reads.

“The President expects the new CEO to promote transparency and efficiency in the NLTF’s operations to achieve its goal of supporting good causes in Nigeria.”

OLOWORARAN APPOINTED TO HEAD PenCom

The president appointed Omolola Oloworaran as the director-general of the National Pension Commission (PenCom).

Ngelale mentioned that Oloworaran’s appointment awaits senate confirmation.

“Ms. Oloworaran is an expert in finance and banking with extensive experience,” the statement said.

“The President anticipates goal-driven leadership to enhance the performance of PenCom as the key regulator of the Nigerian pension sector.”

AGARA APPOINTED NDE DG

Tinubu also approved Silas Agara as the new DG of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).

Agara, who served as the deputy governor of Nasarawa state and was a former special adviser on sports, is expected to revitalize the NDE to effectively address mass unemployment.

UMAR MOHAMMED IS NEW NIHSA DG

Umar Mohammed was appointed as the DG of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA).

“Mr. Mohammed, an architect and expert in construction technology and the environment, is expected to improve the agency’s operations in hydrological monitoring and groundwater exploration,” the statement said.

DAN AGUNDI TO LEAD NPC

Baffa Dan Agundi was named the new DG of the National Productivity Centre (NPC). Previously a majority leader of the Kano state house of assembly, Dan Agundi is expected to drive the NPC’s mandate of fostering a culture of operational excellence.

UMAR KOGO TO OVERSEE CCT

Mainasara Umar Kogo was appointed as chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

“Kogo is a seasoned lawyer and analyst,” the statement said. “The President expects professionalism and integrity in fulfilling the duties of the CCT.”

EWALEFOH TO HEAD ICRC

Jobson Ewalefoh was appointed as the new DG of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), subject to senate confirmation.

“Ewalefoh is an expert in public-private partnerships and public policy reform,” Ngelale said. “The President expects commitment to accelerating investment in national infrastructure.”

ADEBAYO NAMED CEO OF NALDA

Cornelius Adebayo was appointed as the executive secretary and CEO of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA). Adebayo, an engineer and social development expert, is expected to drive the growth of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

FALEYE APPOINTED AS NSITF MD, ALLI-MACAULAY NAMED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Oluwaseun Faleye was named the new MD/CEO of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), and Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay was appointed executive director (operations).

“Faleye is a specialist in legal and corporate finance,” Ngelale said. “Alli-Macaulay is a former lawmaker with a focus on women’s affairs and job creation.”

The statement highlighted expectations for a comprehensive repositioning of the NSITF for improved social protection.

SALEH ABUBAKAR IS NEW DG OF NAGGW

Saleh Abubakar was appointed as the new DG of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW). Tinubu expects Abubakar to apply his extensive experience to combat land degradation and enhance food security.

ADEKANMBI TO LEAD HYPREP

Olufemi Adekanbi was named the new project coordinator for the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP). Adekanbi, with a background in environmental management, is expected to lead efforts to restore areas impacted by hydrocarbon pollution, particularly in Ogoniland.
